About topic

The electromagnetic waves having a frequency range from 0.1 to 10 THz is defined as terahertz (THz) radiation band. Nowadays, this radiation band has been brought to the attention of the photonics research community because this frequency band has the immense potential to be used in sensing, imaging, biotechnology, security, spectroscopy, and astronomy applications. At the early stage dry air is used for the propagation of THz wave because it exhibits the lowest dispersion and absorption than any other material. Recently, the spotlight of waveguide that uses air as the core is using photonic bandgap mechanism or anti-resonance reflecting guidance mechanism. We develop the porous core photonic crystal fiber base on photonic bandgap mechanism and hollow core with nested anti-resonance nodeless fibers which are using anti-resonance reflecting guidance mechanism to achieve the lowest loss and high birefringence.
